NEW YEARS DAY Frontwoman On Upcoming Video For 'Come For Me': 'It's The Biggest Music Video We've Ever Done'
September 11, 2019NEW YEARS DAY frontwoman Ash Costello has revealed to "Cutter's RockCast" that her band recently filmed a video for its latest single, "Come For Me". "It's, first of all, the biggest music video we've ever done," she said (see video below).
"I produce all of our music videos — I do the hiring, the treatment, the costumes, I hire the makeup artist," she continued. "Every music video has to come from here [points to her head]. And we really went for it. I said, 'How can I outdo any music video I've ever done before? Okay — more sex, more blood.' We remade [the movie 'From Dusk Till Dawn']. So it's vampire strippers killing everyone. And we've got so many cameos. We've got Spencer [Charnas] from ICE NINE KILLS, who dies."
"Come For Me" is taken from NEW YEARS DAY's latest full-length album, "Unbreakable", which came out in April. The band's fourth studio album was produced by Mitchell Marlow (ALL THAT REMAINS, IN THIS MOMENT) and Scott Stevens (HALESTORM, SHINEDOWN). It is the follow up to the band's 2015 LP, "Malevolence", which hit No. 45 on the Billboard 200, thanks to the radio hits "Defame Me" and "Kill Or Be Killed".
Costello previously said that "Come For Me" was her favorite track from "Unbreakable". She described it as "a fight song. It's kind of my invitation to the world that if you've got something to say, come say it to my face," she explained. "I think we can all use a song like that."
